Our friendly neighbourhood advisor has just submitted her CE credits along with all other documentation for her license renewal. So, her renewal should be completed without a hitch, right?
Not necessarily! When it comes to continuing education, regulators need more than just your word. They will often ask for you to submit earned CE certificates to match your reported CE completions.
Use a system to track your CE completions like a spreadsheet or our CE tracker that includes:
- the course title,
- course description,
- completion date,
- name of the provider,
- CE code,
- the number of credits earned, and
- the type of credits you earned.
Also print or save copies of each and every CE certificate that you earn!
It’s worth mentioning that CE requirements vary by province, and you could be audited by your provincial body. Missing or undocumented CE credits is one of the top non-compliance issues – and there are penalties. Continuing education is an important part of being a successful advisor. It’s in your best interest to complete qualifying courses and to track them.
